Alpharetta FBLA Chapter Competes at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta

 
The Alpharetta High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) sent 44 students to the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta to compete for the nation’s top awards in several business and computer science categories. Twenty one of Alpharetta’s competitors were able to crack the top ten and make stage as national winners in twelve events. A special congratulation goes out to these national first place winners: Torus Lu for Economics, Suraj Masand for Desktop Application Programming, and Evan Zhang for Intro to Business Math.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the premier student business organization in the world. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business and business-related fields. At Alpharetta, FBLA is the largest student organization at the school with over 240 active members for the 2015 – 2016 school year.

ALPHARETTA HIGH SCHOOL LADIES GOLF TEAM PLACES AN IMPRESSIVE 2ND AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT

The Alpharetta High School Girls Golf Team went to Moultrie, GA to play in the State Tournament for the fourth year in a row.   With a large group of teams participating, Alpharetta High Schools girls dominated the first 9 holes and only lost by a few strokes in the back nine  to take SECOND PLACE AT STATE. The girls that represented Alpharetta High School this year were; Ashley Brown(12), Kelsey Kurnett(12), Ilana Bonell(11) and Alejandra Ayala(10). Kelsey Kurnett was low scorer with a 76.

Congratulations Golf Team
The Alpharetta Girls Golf Team is off to the State Championship Tournament on Monday, May 16 in Moultrie Georgia. The Girls Golf Team played Sectional Play in Tifton Georgia on Monday, May 2 and with only three players competing,  captured a place for the State Title. Playing in Sectionals for Alpharetta High School were Kelsey Kurnett(12), Alejandra Ayala(10) and Ilana Bonell(11).  Alejandra Ayala took “Lowest Scoring Player” with a score of 78, she was also one of the  “Lowest Scoring Players’” at Regionals with a score of 69. This is Alpharetta High Schools Fourth Year in a row going to the State Tournament and they look to do well at State. Playing for Alpharetta in the State Championship Tournament will be: Ashley Brown(12), Kelsey Kurnett(12), Ilana Bonell(11) and  Alejandra Ayala(10). The Team is led by Head Coach Cheryl Solan and Community Coaches, Eric Brown and Paul Reynolds.

“The AHS team of Anthony Liu, Kate Nelson and Manu Poruthoor finished 2nd in the region-wide Lockheed-Martin CodeQuest competition last Saturday in Marietta. Most of the top 100 high school Java programmers from the top 30 schools in Georgia were represented.”
