Sister's Act was a Huge Success!

Don't Contribute!

Former Alpharetta High School students, Gavin Ng and Russell Scarborough, have their award winning video "Don't Contribute" picked up by the Ad Council. Their video also garnered a Student Production award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.   Both students spent 4 years in Misner's A/V Tech program.  Gavin is now at The University of Georgia and Russell is majoring in Music Business at Belmont University.

"The idea for the Ad Council was born in November 1941. Days later, with the entry of the U.S. into World War II,
we were christened The War Advertising Council and soon created a campaign to sell War Bonds.
More than seventy years and hundreds of campaigns later, the Ad Council remains America's leading producer
of public service communications."

Take a look at their shortened version of their video:

Raider Football Team volunteers time at local shelter

On Tuesday, March 14th, The Alpharetta Raiders Football Team donated items and assembled lunches for 40 men at a downtown night shelter. This shelter is open from October through the end of March and local groups provide hot meals as well as bags with breakfast and lunch items for the men to take with them the next morning. At this shelter the men are referred and must show up each night or risk losing their spot. They are given a safe and warm place to stay, a hot shower, and some groups even provide haircuts and foot hygiene. The hope is to give these men a step up to getting back on their feet after falling on hard times.  This is the second year that the Raiders football team has provided lunches as a small way of giving back.
