AHS Student Council visits GASC

Alpharetta High School student council members along with their advisors, Whitney Decaminada and Andrew Bolin, attended the Georgia Association of Student Council's State Convention February 22-24.  Student council members from all over the state of Georgia gather at Rock Eagle to strengthen their leadership skills.  AHS student's participated in many leadership activities, presented workshops, and networked with other student council members.  AHS also won the award for raising the most amount of money for Bert's Big Adventure!

AHS Varsity Winter Guard Places #5 in the Country!


The Alpharetta Varsity Winter Guard began its Winter Guard International competition tour this past weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee. They competed with teams from all over the southeast. The team finished first in their round, winning all captions. This qualified them to compete in the final round. In finals, the team had quite an emotional performance and received a standing ovation from the audience. The judges were very impressed and awarded the team a first place finish for the entire competition. This placement has our team now ranked #5 in the country!! The team will continue its national competition tour in Atlanta on March 2 and then at Winthrop University in South Carolina on March 16. They will finish the season competing at the Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio, during spring break. Mr. Jenkins, Mrs. Schlosser, Mrs. Lukes, Mr. Parent and Mr. Walsh are very proud of the team and their hard work. Go Raiders!

Senior Jalon Kimes was selected as a Posse Scholarship recipient, receiving a four-year, full tuition leadership award. Over 1,400 nominations for 60 Posse Atlanta Scholarships were sent in. Congratulations Jalon!

AHS Winter Guard Start Season Strong

Our AHS winter guards opened their competitive season this past Saturday at Kennesaw Mountain High School. Our JV team had a great performance and placed third in their class, slightly edging out the varsity teams at Chattahoochee, Woodstock, Walton, and East Paulding. The AHS Varsity team wowed the audience and judges which earned them a first place finish. Our varsity team outscored Milton, Lambert, Kennesaw Mountain, Whitewater, Ola, Hillgrove, Harrison, Lanier, Carrollton, and Soddy Daisy (TN).  Both of our teams will compete this Saturday, February 2 at South Forsyth High School. On February 9, our varsity team has their first national competition in Knoxville, Tennessee.
