The debate team competed at the Barkley Forum Tournament at Emory University over the weekend. The team of Eshan Momin and Anish Thatiparthi were the Champions of the tournament! This is one of the 5 traditional regular season “majors” that all of the top teams in the country compete at each year. This marks the first time that Alpharetta has won one of the majors. Congratulations to Eshan, Anish, and the entire debate squad that helped them achieve this major championship on the national circuit.

KSU Mathematics Competition!
The KSU Mathematics Competition is an annual mathematics contest for Georgia high school students, both public and private. Part 1 consists of a convenient 90 minute block of time during or after the school day at the students’ own high school. There are 25 multiple choice questions, ranging in difficulty, covering all levels of pre-calculus mathematics included in the Georgia state high school mathematics curriculum. The highest scoring student in our school was Eric Sun!

AP World History in the Media Center!
Ms. Jolle’s AP World History class in the Media Center!!! The assignment required students to compare the effects of the Columbian Exchange on the Europeans, Africans, and/or Amerindians during the period 1500-1750. Students were able to work independently, with a partner, or with Ms. Jolle.
PAGE STAR Student Awards!
The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition or STAR program allows students with the highest levels of academic achievement to regale a teacher of their choice. This year two students with SAT scores of a 1590 have been chosen. Congratulations to Pranav Kalaga & Leo Guan and their nominated teachers Mr. Anthony Murdoch and Ms. Kelly Evers!

Congratulations to Anusha Gururaj who took home a 2nd place award for “First Impressions”. The event included completing an individual resume, interviewing in front of a panel, and then giving an elevator speech. Even with this level of difficulty she was just shy of first place by 1 point!

Alpharetta High School's CTAE Audio/Video Technology and Film program won six student awards from the 2022 Student Production Awards hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts and Science.
