On November 7th Alpharetta High School’s Visual Arts Department hosted the North Fulton Portfolio Day. It was an event that enabled art students from across the county to showcase their art portfolios to some of the highest ranked art schools from around the country. AHS invited all the high schools in the county to attend, with Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Northview, Chattahoochee, and Tri-Cities taking advantage of the event for their students. Some of the colleges present were SCAD, Rhode Island School of Design, University of Georgia, Georgia State, Pratt, College of Creative Studies, Creative Circus, Full Sail University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and many more.
Alpharetta High School Visual Arts Department created and hosted the event for 4 years, opening it to the entire county for the first time this year. Members of the National Art Honor Society help organize and run the day to make it a great experience for college representatives and students alike. The students present their body of artwork to the colleges for critique and review with hopes of admission to the college and possible college scholarships. In years past students have earned scholarships as a result of this event.
