Georgia All-State Reading Chorus
Four AHS Chorus students were selected for and participated in the Georgia All-State Reading Chorus this past weekend.

'Georgia Philharmonic’s Samuel Fordis Young Artists’ Concerto Competition
Richard J. Cho, a sophomore at Alpharetta High School, is one of four winners of the. Named in honor of former concertmaster and colleague Sam Fordis, the annual Samuel Fordis Young Artists Concerto Competition invites young musicians to audition for an opportunity to solo with the orchestra during the first concert of every calendar year.
Richard will perform Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto No. 5 during the Georgia Philharmonic Concert in February. Richard made his solo debut with the Orchestra of Omaha at age 11. He also has soloed with the Atlanta Community Orchestra and the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra. Congratulations Richard and Alpharetta High!

Leadership Matters Award!
Congratulations to Assistant Principal Rebecca Williams Perkins for being selected by Dr. Kersey for the “Leadership Matters” award. Dr. Kersey has kicked off this recognition program for 2017 in order to honor and celebrate the great work of administrators, department chairs and other school leaders at AHS.
