Alpharetta High Student Wins Georgia Philharmonic Competition
Richard J. Cho, a sophomore at Alpharetta High School, is one of four winners of the Georgia Philharmonic’s Samuel Fordis Young Artists’ Concerto Competition. Named in honor of former concertmaster and colleague Sam Fordis, the annual Samuel Fordis Young Artists Concerto Competition invites young musicians to audition for an opportunity to solo with the orchestra during the first concert of every calendar year.
Richard will perform Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto No. 5 during the Georgia Philharmonic Concert in February. Richard made his solo debut with the Orchestra of Omaha at age 11. He also has soloed with the Atlanta Community Orchestra and the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra. Congratulations Richard and Alpharetta.
