AHS in the news

Alpharetta~ Middle and High School students from around Alpharetta and Johns Creek put their creative skills to use during the first session of The Alpharetta film Academy.

The AFA teaches young students how to write, shoot, direct and edit professional quality videos/films in a relaxed, professional video studio. The Academy takes the principles taught in the intro and intermediate levels of Audio-Video Film and Technology and guides students on the fundamentals of good camera work, professional quality audio and state of the art editing techniques.

Students learned how to collaborate to produce a short broadcast using the elements of professional video techniques.   "Our studio at Alpharetta High School provides everything the young film maker needs to get started to spark that passion," says, Tracy Misner, creator of the Alpharetta Film Academy.  Misner also thanks the AFA supporter, The Alpharetta Convention and Visitor's Bureau for providing the t-shirts to help market the program.

"This year was very successful in that we relied entirely on social media marketing", says Misner.  Session 2 was a sellout and there are plans to add a 3rd session for next year!
