Mr. Davies' Human Geography Students Collaborate On Their First Class Assignment

Students were asked to analyze a map in small groups as their first real class assignment. They were given only a topographic map of Collingwood, Ontario and asked to analyze the map. They were told only that they should have enough information at the end to write a 2-3 page essay. They will receive a sheet with a list of questions later that they should be able to make educated guesses about. What is the population? What group of Europeans most likely founded the area?
