Alpharetta Introduces Music Technology Lab

In the Fall of 2018, Alpharetta High School will open a new, state-of-the-art Music Technology Lab!  Each of the 24 individual stations will include a brand new Apple iMac loaded with Pro Tools digital audio production software, Finale compositional software, Musition 5 music theory and musicianship software, Auralia 5 ear-training software, a Scarlett audio interface, an 88-key Korg Krome keyboard / digital workstation, a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, a Shure microphone, and a headset. The classroom is connected with the new Korg GEC5 audio controller, allowing complete virtual control of the classroom.  In addition, the classroom is equipped with an Apple TV and projector and 2 sets of M-Audio speakers (BX5, BX8), allowing projects to be displayed and performed during class. Music Technology is an important tool for today’s musician. Students will be able to explore music creation, composition and arranging, and of course, the process of production to performance.

Experience is recommended but NOT required.  Class size is limited, see Mr. Walsh to get on the list or get more information!
