Georgia Association of Student Council Advisor of the Month Whitney Decaminada

This month's GASC Advisor of the month is Ms. Whitney Decaminada from Alpharetta High School. Ms. Decaminada is the head advisor of the Alpharetta High School Student Council Chapter. For more than 10 years, her students believe that she has been a great motivator, advisor, and mentor. Along with leading student council, Ms. Decaminada is the Testing Coordinator as well as teaches a leadership class at Alpharetta. Students at Alpharetta say that Ms. Decaminada is a role model to students and also adults because of her passion to help their school and their students to be the best they can be. "She is a very motivated teacher and has taught our Student Council so many valuable lessons. Ms. Decaminada has motivated us to always perform our best and to serve our school as well as other students with kindness and positivity," Sophia Abedi, a student of Ms Decaminada says. She has taught the students that the most important reward to volunteering is helping others. And with that platform of encouraging voluntarism throughout Alpharetta, her students regularly help with the Iron Kids Triathlon, Mr. AHS, Homecoming, Prom, and with her leadership, they raised $10,000 for Bert's Big Adventure!
