The Alpharetta High School Foundation Raises $21,000 For School Funding

As many of you are aware there have been some significant budget reductions to Fulton County schools, including our very own AHS. In response to the county cuts, leadership at our award winning high school requested assistance from the Foundation. After several meetings and detailed discussion, it was decided to make a contribution of $21,000 to offset decreased funds coming from Fulton County Schools.

While the mission of the Foundation is not to fund normal, ongoing operations of the school, the Foundation felt this was an opportunity to assist in keeping AHS a vibrant and productive educational institution. By helping AHS overcome the county budget shortfall this year, we are sustaining not only subjects like art & math but school supplies as well. This donation is a move toward short term success while as a community we come up with more means to raise funds for any future budget shortfalls.

Below is a list of the funds requested from AHS leadership and provided for by the Foundation donation mentioned above.
  • Tools and hardware for Art department
  • Printers for Counseling office
  • Supplemental books/resources for IB department
  • Printing supplies for ID and IRR
  • New books for Language Arts department
  • Calculus and Statistics materials for Math department
  • Digital content subscription for Media Center
  • Sheet music Band, Chorus and Orchestra
  • Pallet of paper for general usage
  • Hot water bath, spectrophotometer and supplies for Science department
  • Printer repair, novels and resource books for World Language
In closing, we are grateful to be serving such an excellent institution education at AHS and the strong leadership team. We are continually seeking innovative means to raise supplemental funding and welcome anyone who would like to be involved in challenge of supporting the high quality education AHS parents expect for their students.

We encourage anyone looking to get involved and make a donation to contact the board anytime about membership initiatives, donations and roles. Let's continue to be the community that cares and steps up in uncertain times. We need you and your support to keep AHS a top state, regional and national high school.
