Teacher-of-the-Month: Stephanie McDonald
Stephanie contributes so much to the Honors Chemistry
program at AHS. She has creative ideas that improve the lab and classroom
experience for students. She is terrific to discuss chemistry concepts with and
is instrumental in developing better ways to teach concepts.
Professional-of-the-Month: Derya Ozler
I am honored to nominate Derya Ozler for Professional of the
Month. Derya consistently goes above and beyond to support both students and
staff. She is always there when we need her, ready to step in with a positive
attitude and a willingness to help in any way she can. Her dedication to our
students is evident in the care and patience she shows every day. We are truly
fortunate to have her!
Team-of-the-Month: Professional Assistants
The AHS Professional Assistant team exemplifies dedication,
adaptability, and heart. Whether managing discipline processes, coordinating
substitutes, handling registrations and attendance, or addressing the countless
unexpected challenges that arise daily, this team consistently works together
to support administrators, teachers, students, and parents. In a time of
significant change over the past two school years, they have remained
steadfast, collaborative, and committed to excellence.
Beyond their professional responsibilities, these assistants
serve as the “school moms” for students who need extra care and encouragement.
They keep our leadership grounded, foster school spirit through creative
decorations and celebrations, and maintain positivity in every interaction.
Most importantly, they often de-escalate emotionally charged situations with
grace and empathy, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. Their
impact on our school community is immeasurable, and they truly deserve
recognition as a team of the month.
