Alpharetta Going Greener

Alpharetta High School is excited that our Loraxs planted 5 dogwoods today. We have 3 more…next year they will bloom and beautify the courtyard between the 2000 & 3000 halls.

We are working on an Evergreen Schools Certification for Alpharetta HighJ

We have 3 more to plant---probably Friday.

Thanks to Terry Porter. She is a great resource for us. She helped the kids with their Adopt-a-stream certification which involved learning about the biology of streams and value and indications of macro-invertebrates in the stream, and also chemical testing of the water and how to gather samples. AHS has nearly 90 students who will be adopt-a-stream certified in the biological portion and about 55 who were able to also complete the chemistry study and testing.

Next year we plan to have an Adopt-a-stream club and this will be for North Fulton High Schools
