Science Night
Science National Honor Society held their first annual Science Night at Alpharetta High School Friday March 15th. Students from local elementary schools were invited to come to AHS to see and learn Science! SNHS students set up several stations in one of our science labs offering a variety of scientific experiences for their young guests. Stations included learning about the density of liquids by building a Lava Lamp, Learning about pH with The Chemistry of Milk of Magnesia, a station dealing with electrostatic, one making invisible ink, learning about how the lungs work by building a model lung, and even a Flame testing demonstration. Each elementary student who attended was given a Science Passport that he or she could take around to the various stations and get a stamp for having participated in the “experiment”.
The goal of this event was to bring the community into the school and get youngsters excited about science. SNHS hope to have this event each year.
