Congratulations APES Environmental Hazards Finalists

Finalists in the 1st Annual APES Environmental Hazards Championship:
Kelly Carter, Jayme Dinnerstein, Kevin Goff, Addison Stratton, Leah Elgart, Maryn Smith,  ---all had placed DDT as a finalist. Finalists received APES Hazard Trophies:)

Winner for properly choosing the final 2 teams-Joe Albright! Along with his APES Hazards Trophy, he got to sign the "Toxic Avenger" poster which will be proudly displayed in the APES classroom.

Final Game was DDT vs. Cholera

And Cholera was the winner ...er.. worst environmental hazard of 2016.
Cholera is an acute diarrheal disease that can kill within hours if left untreated.
Researchers have estimated that there are 1.4 to 4.3 million cases, and 28 000 to 142 000 deaths worldwide due to cholera every year.
* Provision of safe water and sanitation is critical to control cholera and other waterborn diseases.
